The second part of Data Week 2024 took place in Leuven (Belgium) on 5 June. This second part, in conjunction with the LAILEC conference, featured sessions, panels and talks by high-level European and national speakers and leading industry and research experts in Big Data Value and Industrial AI. The main topics of this edition gravitated around the legal and ethical aspects of data and AI: AI Law Enforcement, Generative AI/Foundation Models, Data Spaces, Data Quality, Synthetic Data and AI Regulatory Sandboxes.
Under the theme Data Value Unlocked, 11 sessions were held, including “Data Value creation”, in which DATAMITE participated. This session discussed relevant aspects to take into account when obtaining high value from data, especially when including the new dimension of data sharing through data spaces. Building on previous discussions, such as the sessions held during the Data Week part 1 / Symposium on Data Spaces in Darmstadt, the session brought together experts to delve deeper into some key aspects of creating value from data, presenting different perspectives on the topic and identifying new avenues of exploration. Daniel Sáez Domingo, Technology Transfer Director ITI, attended on behalf of DATAMITE to participate in the experts discussion, held during the second part of the debate.
Data Week is the spring gathering of the European Big Data and Data Driven AI research and innovation communities. Data Week is organised by the Big Data Value Association.
